Firstly I wish to thank those Rotarians and wives who met Marjorie Jessin at the airport on Thursday 28th July 2011. Marjorie appeared relaxed and was taken home by her first host parents David and Di Gillies. I thank them both for their continued involvement in Youth Exchange. Adrian Glover and Craig Faulkhead were also present as part of the welcoming committee from the International Committee. I called on Ian Newland this week and he is recovering well at home and should be mobile in the next few weeks and able to attend Rotary again. His open heart surgery appears to have been completely successful. Cynthia Leech is now out of hospital and recuperating at home. I am sure she is glad to be back in her own home and we wish her well. We will hear more on the Yellow Boat Trip at our next meeting and thank you Pat Callaghan for all your work in that regard. The Melbourne Cup Sweep tickets have arrived and been divided up for stapling and will go out for all soon. We may wish to nominate a recipient for the proceeds as that helps with the selling of tickets. Maybe this could be our Polio contribution? I look forward to seeing you all again next Tuesday which will be the first of our committee nights. I encourage all members to attend their respective committee meetings. "Follow the Yellow Boat Road" We will have more information by Tuesday night but we would like to get numbers for a mixed dinner on the Saturday night when we will get Rob Pennicoat to give us a talk. We have arranged marina berths thanks to Hamish, Adrian and the Sarin Group. I have organised a preliminary press release and David Johnston as publicity officer is forewarning the local media. At Tuesday's meeting I will ask for volunteers to take billets for overnight Saturday night 6th August. Probably 7 as far as I can tell. Airport Vending Machine Roster

To avoid congestion at the airport, the most practical times for filling are between the hours of 10.30am to 1.30pm Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 12 noon Sat, Sun, or after 8.30 any night. Please arrange your own change with others if these dates are not convenient for you and inform the Vending Machine Chairperson (John Myers) so that the master roster can be updated. Thank you.
