What a great fellowship atmosphere at the last meeting

to welcome new member Hamish Mould into the Club,

and to welcome transferee Daniel Schubert to Pt Lincoln.

We hope you both enjoy Rotary with us.

Have also had a phone call from Spencer and Lorraine

Adamson, Rotarians from Holdfast Bay, to say that they                    have finally sold their house and are looking forward to being in Pt Lincoln within a month to live.

Our Corporate Golf Day is fast approaching so be ready to assist when Bob and his team ask for help.

The 90th Anniversary of Rotary in Aust is to be celebrated on 20th May. I would like to have an informal celebration at our 24th May Meeting, after the Golf Day, and perhaps have a round the room highlights from Pt Lincoln Rotary down the years.

Unusually good weather for Easter; hope everyone enjoyed it. Bigger crowds than normal at Anzac Day Services and it was good to see so many Rotarians in attendance.

Thanks to Ian Newland for stepping into Attendance Officer for the balance of the year. Continue notifications in the usual manner and Ian will get the details from Morag ( Safestore ).

Position Vacant

  Looking for a short term replacement Attendance Officer.

This temporary position has become available due to the existing Officer being burnt out and in desperate need of R & R.   The position attracts the usual remuneration and benefits and requires absolutely no special abilities. You will need to have your own tools of trade for the position which is a crystal ball and a computer or just a pencil would be adequate.   The existing officer is willing to provide the necessary forms for the rest of the year and so that leaves the big job of making sure that at each meeting you are there before the others which allows you extra time away from your wife and an extra beer with a few of the early Rotarians.   You will have assistance at the Attendance Officers office at SafeStore where Morag will produce the end of year report under supervision of the President.   If this is YOU then please see me at your earliest convenience for immediate training.

Marjorie Jessin, (our incoming student for 2011 / 2012) profile is attached below.  Rotarians interested in hosting Marjorie should contact Adrian Glover ASAP, if you wait until she arrives before expressing your interest you may miss out.  Marjorie will be the 76th student hosted by our club, but remember, youth exchange only works if we have enough Rotarians willing to host.  More information on Marjorie will be published in the next edition

Roxby Change Over Dinner

Dear Fellow Rotarians and friends.

  Please find attached an invitation to a Changeover in the outback of Roxby Downs.   With the recent rains the desert is green and Lake Eyre is full a once in a hundred year event.   If you could possibly attend we would love to see you and while your here please explore the nearby tourist attractions and make a worthwhile trip of it.   Hope to here from you soon.

Airport Vending Machine Roster

• Rostered periods are now fortnightly. This allows for a minimum of 5 trips per fortnight, rather than 3 per week.
• Two people are rostered each period to provide both flexibility and assistance if required.

Fill in Spares -  Colin West. Terry Doyle.  

To avoid congestion at the airport, the most practical times for filling are between the hours of 10.30am to 1.30pm Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 12 noon Sat, Sun, or after 8.30 any night.   

Please arrange a change if these dates are not convenient for you and let me know so that the roster can be updated.
