President' Message

HAVE FUN IN ROTARY   HELP A MATE

Col's Carry-on

Thank goodness for poor hearing - I didn’t hear the

President rabbiting on the other night. The meeting

seemed to go alright from where I was sitting. Great to

see a new face in Trevor Waite; hope you enjoyed the

night Trevor.

Sunday will have seen our first Board Meeting, and

hopefully we’ll have more fresh ideas coming forward. Specially if  I    record the minutes over lunch and ‘lemonade’.

As I said last week wherever possible, when we are doing something for a local organisation I would like them to be working with us. Whenever possible we should be waving our Rotary ‘flag’.

This week we look forward to hearing Bill Stenson’s Story, and having Michael Geeves, our wheels recipient, as our guest. He wishes to make a reciprocal gift to the Club.

Colin

Have fun in Rotary.

PAST APEXIANS. Please note that you are invited to the last meeting of the Pt Lincoln Club Sat 31/7 midday Northern Hotel

Advise Colin.

Paddy and Murphy were talking one afternoon when Paddy tells Murphy,

“ Ya know, I reckon I’m about ready for a vacation. Only this year I’m gonna do it a little different. The last few years, I took your advice about where to go. Three years ago you said to go to Hawaii...I went to Hawaii and Molly got pregnant.

Then two years ago, you told me to go to the Bahamas and Molly got pregnant again.

Last year you suggested Tahiti and darn me if Molly didn’t get pregnant again.”

Murphy asks Paddy, “ So, what you gonna do this year that’s different ? “

Paddy says, “ This year I’m taking Molly with me.”

Attendance officer’s dilemma.

Just a few stats on last week’s meeting 13th July.

30 Rotarians present

1 Guest of the Club

33 Meals needed (guess) Advised Ravendale Monday afternoon

31 Meals served on the night

21 members present but did not advise

8 members absent and silent

20 Apologies or Leave of absence

If I had advised Ravendale that we would need 8 meals for the 13th based on the number of members who advised me they would be present then we would have to have shared 8 meals among 31 people. As it turns out my guess was pretty close but it could be a lot easier if we have better information.

I could run the system in reverse if that is easier for you. If you tell me when you will not be there rather than advising me every week that you will be present then I will know that you will be at the meeting. Give me a call.

New printable version of 2010/ 2011 committees and member contact details are now available in the member's log on area.

JUST A THOUGHT  —  You spend the first half of your life trying to be old enough to do the things you want. You spend the second half trying to stay young enough to do them.

HELP A MATE -
